Book description: The Waterloo Medal was the first military award issued to all ranks that had fought at the Battle of Waterloo, as well as the preceding conflicts at Ligny and Quatre Bras. This medal was the British Army’s first campaign medal, awarded to almost 37,000 Waterloo veterans. The medal was given out based on the regimental Rolls handed into the Royal Mint in 1815. These various regimental Rolls were brought together by researcher Charles Dalton in 1904, and were offered as a combined Roll of all Waterloo Medal recipients under the title, The Waterloo Medal Roll. No less then 404 pages, this massive work holds a huge amount of information, logging the officers and men of all regiments that fought at Waterloo.

The book has a beautiful full burgundy red leather binding, with matt silver blocking, along with blind embossing. The book has two burgundy silk ribbon markers, and original marbled end papers. The book is held within a burgundy linen archival quality slip-case.

Condition: Internal pages as new. Binding & slip-case new.

A stunning gift that can be cherished and enjoyed for decades
