Rare and sought after maker
SS dagger for sale made by Ed. Gembruch, Solingen. The 1933 pattern, SS dagger, with leather hanger is in excellent overall condition, including solid nickel-silver fittings throughout. The ebony dagger grip with a good, close fit to the upper - and lower crossguards. The grip in good condition: chip to the upper obverse, and lower, reverse.
The SS dagger blade with 95% polish and crossgrain, free from pitting. The SS motto sharp, and the reverse to the blade shows the eponymous, Ed.Gembruch, fish maker-mark, and company name.
The scabbard retains a dull, black-painted finish, which could be a contemporary factory repaint. The upper- and lower scabbard mounts perfect, with good bottom ball, and all screws present. The SS dagger complete with its original black leather hanger, with nickel-silver fittings.
Provenance: the Gembruch SS dagger originally found in a house-clearance. In one collection before being consigned to URIC of ENGLAND. It is uncleaned, as found.
