SS 1933 Dagger by Bertram Reinh, Solingen.

An  SS dagger for sale. manufactured by Bertram Reinh, Solingen. The 1933 pattern SS dagger with black ebony grip and solid nickel-silver upper and lower cross guards. The lower crossguard gruppe marked 'I'. The inside of both upper and lower guards marked 'P.A'. The blade tang with raised Runic type symbol.

The blade with motto, along with Bertram Reinh  trademark to the reverse. A three line dedication was originally etched to this dagger. The dedication has been erased. See further information under notes. The scabbard with an original black anodised finish. The scabbard mounts in solid nickle-silver.

Condition report: The ebony grip clean and free from damage. Fine nickle-silver and black enamel Runes eye, along with nickle-silver eagle/swastika. Both emblems fitted well to the grip. A clean screw top, but some light marks show the nut has been undone in the past. Blade in overall very good to excellent condition with much crossgrain still visible. The moto rermaining particularly clear and sharp, with much blackening left. The reverse shows clear evidence of a three line inscription, now erased. The blade has been sharpened, probably at the time the inscription was erased, and this has led to the length being shortened by sharpening.

Scabbard with approximately 80/90% black paint remaining. An overall pleasant appearance, and free from adverse pitting, but one small crease to the scabbard shell on the obverse. Slight dent to base of bottom ball. All screws present.

Notes: The three line inscription erased, buit just about visible in places. Seems to suggest the recipient was an SS-Sturmbannführer, and was with SS-TK Inf.Regt.1.
