SA Dagger | Gruppe Westfalen Presentation.
A German SA dagger for sale made by Carl Schmidt Sohn A.G, Solingen. The high-quality SA dagger made during the 1930s, and presented to a member of SA Gruppe Westfalen. The beautiful cherry brown fruitwood fits perfectly to the upper- and lower crossguards, the solid nickel-silver eagle & swastika motif and SA Runes eye neatly set into the wood grip. Solid nickel-silver plated mounts thoughout as would be expected, and the lower crossguard with Gruppe stamp 'Wf'. The obverse to the blade has the 'Alles für Deutschland' motto. The reverse with Carl Schmidt Sohn A.G. name and trademark. The top mount to the scabbard bears a red enamel shield with a silver horse (the coat-of-arms for Westfalen). Scabbard shell with original anodised finish.
Condition report: The grip perfect and beautiful quality. The guards excellent, and the top fastening nut in overall good condition. The dagger blade with a near perfect appearance with 98% original crossgrain evident. Just light runner marks visible. The scabbard with 95% original anodised finish. The reverse to the top mount indicates the dagger may have had a dedication. Bottom ball good, all screws present.
