Royal Navy Medals to Ordinary Seaman Alfred Randall. The three, boxed, Royal Navy Medals include the Africa Star, 1939-1945 Star and  1939-1945 Medal.

The Medals in a tan-coloured  box addressed to Mrs Clare Randall, Dover, Kent. The Royal Navy Medals with their original ribbons, cellophane packets, and named, 'We Share Your Sorrow' certificate of Medal Entitlement.

Condition report: The box and medal group in excellent to near mint condition. The certificate with standard folds.

Note: Ordinary Seaman Alfred Douglas Randall was serving aboard HMS Jaguar, when the J Class Destroyer was attacked by the German U-Boat, U-652. Four torpedos were fired from the U-Boat, and two hit the HMS Jaguar in the bow. The destroyer immediately caught fire and sank in a particularly short time. Of the ship's compliment of 246 officers and men, 193 were lost, including Ordinary Seaman Randall. The remaining 53 men who jumped from the ship before it went down, were rescued by the HMS Klo, and taken to Tobruk.

Additional notes: Randall's medals were sent to his mother, Mrs Clare Randall. Alfred Douglas Randall, and his contempories who died aboard HMS Jaguar, are commemorated on the Chatham Naval Memorial.
