A Napoleonic Royal Navy button for an officer circa 1812. Mercuric gilt over brass construction. Obverse with typical oval border with rope inner and outer edges, with a large fouled anchor. to the centre.  The anchor set in relief over diagonal striping. The reverse with typical flat back and central fixing loop. No maker present. Size: 23mm.

Condition report: Approximately 65% of the original mercuric gilt plating still present. Slight wear to the obverse, still very sharp detail for its age.
