RAF watch for sale by LeCoultre, made circa 1943. The WW2 vintage navigation watch with white dial, press fit case-back, chromed brass turned case (40.0 mm x 34.0 mm excluding crown).The dial with the LeCoultre brand-name, 1-12 hour digits, fine blued hands with navigational red sweep seconds.
To the reverse, case-back with markings, War Department arrow, '6B/159' and 'A' prefix serial number. The high quality Jaeger LeCoultre movement nicely-finished and with typical solid brass bridges. The fine balance with screw-in weights. The Jaeger LeCoultre brand-name, and movement number to the main bridge.The watch on a period canvas strap with a chromed buckle.
Condition report: The chrome case in generally good clean condition with most chrome still present (some wear showing to the high points). Plexi-glass clear. One scratch present close to the 7.0 position. Dial original. Two small marks visible at around the 5 / 6 position. Hands perfect with original blued finish. Case-back particularly clean and free from adverse scratches or damage. War Department arrow, and numbers clear and well defined.
Movement clean and functioning. No warranty implied.
Note: 6B/159 LeCoultre WW2 watches are particularly rare and coveted by both military- and vintage watch collectors.
