Dirty Dozen, British Army watch for sale made by International Watch Company (IWC), Switzerland, circa 1944.
The IWC, MK. X watch with satin, stainless steel, turned case (42.0mm x 34.0mm excluding crown), and contract, press-fit stainless steel case-back. Typical black dial with the IWC trade-name, and War Department arrow. The dial with 1-12 hour digits, 60-second scale with luminous hour-marks. Subsidiary seconds-dial at 18.00 hrs.
The case-back with markings, War Department arrow, 'WWW M 14050.' The inside to the case-back with arrow, W.W.W. and 'M' serial number, IWC trade-mark and case number. The typical high quality calibre-83, 15-jewel movement with fine Geneva Stripes to the main bridges. The watch balance with screw-in weights. The IWC trade-name to the main Bridge. The Movement-number stamped to the lower plate.
