A military portrait miniature for sale detailing a Major, 7th Regiment Royal Fusiliers, wearing his bicorne hat, universal-pattern gorget, crossbelt and red waist sash. The portrait miniature by artist Albin Roberts Burt (1783-1842).    

The military portrait minature executed in fine detail and mounted in a black frame with decorative gilt oval to the portrait. The gilt hanger depicts an artist's palette & flowers with the relief legend, 'A.R. Burt Miniature Painter.' The reverse to the portrait miniature sealed with 'Burt's poem.' Green-coloured paper backing. 

Albin Roberts Burt, Friends & Family: Albin Burt's brother was the Secretary to Admiral Lord Nelson. The Burt family were also friends with the parents of Emma, Lady Hamilton. It is believed, Albin Roberts Burt painted Lord Nelson. Several Burt paintings are housed in the National Portrait Gallery [London].

The Royal Fusiliers:The Royal Fusiliers formed part of the Fusilier Brigade in Wellington's Peninsular Army along with the 23rd Regiment of Foot (The Royal Welsh Fusiliers) at the Battle of lbuhera [May 1811].
