Luftwaffe Wristwatch |'D' Marked | Alpina

Luftwaffe watch for sale made by Alpina. The contract service, Swiss-made Luftwaffe watch with standard nickle-silver case with fixed strap-bars. The black dial bearing the Alpina name, 1-12 hour digits, and subsidiary seconds at 18.00hrs.

The screw case-back in stainless steel and with the standard six indents for opening/closing. The case-back impressed with the Luftwaffe 'D'  prefix  and serial number. The inside to the case-back stamped with the Alpina name. The movement with nicely finished steel bridges, bears the Alpina name and calibre type '592' to the main bridge. The movement with fine regulation, and screw balances to the wheel. The last four digits to the movement number being visible without disassembling the  movement.

Condition report: Case in generally good condition. The chrome finish largely erased from the top, to reveal the nickle-silver. Typical age-spotting to the dial. The  luminosity intact to the hour numbers. The Alpina maker-name clear. Some luminosity lost from both hands. The case-back in overall excellent condition, particularly for this watch style; free from unsightly scratches or other damage. The movement clean and fresh-looking. Fully functioning. No warranty implied.

Status: Rare to find 'D' marked contract wristwatches in the market place
