 Note: The Crimea Medal is offered for sale with  complete document-copies from the  National Archives. The documents confirming  Manson was born in Glasgow, and 'signed-up'  in 1839.  Manson's character & conduct are detailed as:

"... that of a very good soldier... in possession of the good conduct badge."

Private James Manson died on 2.6.1856.
