A British Army pocket watch for sale. The WW2, General Service Trade Pattern (G.S.T.P.) miiltary pocket watch, made by Arthur Snegg, Switzerland. The pocket watch  case in nickle-silver  and with with presss-fit case-back. The watch with black enamel dial with 1-12 digits. The quarter-hour digits, 3,6,9,12, in luminous material. Subsidiary seconds at 18.00hrs.

Caseback with War Department arrow, 'G.S.T.P.' designation, and serial number '124687' The British Army pocket watch with a high-quality 15-jewel movement. Geneva Stripes to the bridges. Nicely jewelled, and with a good regulation. Arthur Snegg 'snail' logo to the bridge.

Condition report: Case in overall good condition. Dial close to perfect. Luminous material intact (some luminous material missing to the minute hand. Movement in good clean condition. Functioning.No warranty implied.

Notes: The G.S.T.P watch originally belonging to Drv Peter Waddell. During W.W.II, Waddell was attached to the 53rd (Welsh) Signal Regiment. His conduct is shown as 'Exemplary'. After 1945, Waddell joined the Royal Observer Corps, holding the rank of Chief Observer. He carried on using his G.S.T.P watch during his time with the Royal Observer Corps.

Provenance: The G.S.T.P watch serial numbered '124687' direct from the family of Peter Waddell. Included in the sale photocopies of Waddell's 'Soldier's Release Book', along with a copy of a photograph of waddell. In addition a copy of a document from Waddell's grandson.
