Allgemeine-SS 'Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler' overcoat for sale. The Allgemeine-SS overcoat made from premium quality black wool cloth. The overcoat with silver/black flecked Allgemeine-SS OR/NCO single epaulette insignia. The matched pair of Allgemeine-SS collar patches, show the unit patch bearing silver wire Runes on black, and the companion rank-patch with one pip: the collar patch insignia are machine-sewn into position.

The Allgemeine-SS overcoat with a wool swastika armband  to the left sleeve, and a  fine quality 'Adolf Hitler' silver wire cuff title. The right sleeve shows the chevron for 'Alte Kämpfe' (Old Campaigner). All aluminium pebble buttons are present, and marked 'RZM and 'SS' to the reverse.

The lining to the body is in a typical black, heavy-duty cotton: the sleeves are lined with black silk. The upper lining bears the white stamps with the 'VA 1939' and various size-markings.

Condition report: The Allgemeine-SS overcoat is for sale in overall excellent to near mint condition. The black wool body being free from moth or damage, with no adversse wear. The Allgemeine-SS insignia remains fresh, with the exception of the  brassard which shows a couple of moth nips to the red wool.

The silver wire-work to the insignia, for example the Runes and cuff title is free from oxidation. The lining is also clean, and shows just light use.  All the buttons appear to be originally sewn into place with matching numbers.

Provenance: The Allgemeine-SS 'Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler' overcoat  previously sold by Ulric of England  in the early 1980s: it has formed part of just two, single-owner, German militaria collections, since the 1980s: remaining in the present  collection since 2002. The overcoat features (detailed photographs) in the book: Inside The Allgemeine-SS (pages 213-215).
