An Allgemeine-SS peak visor cap  for sale. The officer, SS peak visor bearing all the attributes of a cap made in the late 1930s; the peak visor  has the typically high-fronted saddle-shape along with both the nickel-silver M1936 eagle, swastika and skull badges.

The  Allgemeine-SS peak visor cap is made from the highest quality black wool doeskin cloth, with white piping and black velvet capband. The eagle, swastika and skull badge insignia are both neatly positioned and firm.

The silver-aluminium capcords are secured by fine nickel-silver pebble finish side buttons. The interior is of the ‘Standard Quality’ black silk lining, with a full celluliod diamond. The dark brown leather sweatband hides the linen RZM/SS label  with the manufacturer code number ‘4’ assigned to Clements Wagner, Braunschweig. The underside to the Allgemeine-SS peak visor cap is finished in medium brown, and also bears the RZM/SS black trademark.

Condition report: The SS hat is in close to mint condition throughout, and free from any moth or damage. The nickel-silver insignia has dulled slightly with age, and remains uncleaned. The visor showing faint age-related lines. Interior clean.

Provenance: Acquired by Ulric of England from American collector Don Woods [1980s]. Sold to a private collector [yr. 2000]. Now offered for sale for the first time since yr. 2000.
