A particularly rare, 1898 War Office 'Standard Pattern Piece,' General rank collar patches. Beautifully embroidered collar patches with gold-coloured bullion on red melton cloth, and complete with mercuric gilt 'sword/batton &leaves buttons. Both collar patches tailored to a replicated dark-blue, wool collar. The collar with War Office red seal, and  typical additional cloth square bearing the same seal. Attached to the collar is the large War Office 'Standard Pattern' card with details relating to the item. The pattern card dated 30.6.98, and approved and signed in ink on behalf of the Adjutant-General.
