Allgemeine-SS tunic for sale. The M1938 pattern 'open-neck' field-grey tunic for an SS-Standartenführer. The tunic retains the matching epaulettes with distinctive light-grey piping for officers attached to the RFSS.

The field grey gabardine tunic retains all its original insignia, including the 2nd pattern single oakleave collar patches, and a beautiful quality sleeve eagle/swastika. The tunic also has the Runes insignia to the lower left pocket, and pocket-loops for two awards.

The Allgemeine-SS tunic is in overall very good to excellent condition, but does show light wear, and some mothing, in particular to the bottom of the cuffs, and a small area to the inside where the tunic material meets the silk lining. The tunic shows no sign of  having had a cuffband.

This style of field-grey open-neck tunic (without silver piping to the collar) was made famous by Otto Kumm, to which a multitude of photographs survive.

Provenance: This Allgemeine-SS tunic was purchased  from the well-known, German-based Haucker Militaria Collection (1980s). It has remained in one collection since that time.
