SS Polizei Officer Tunic | Blood Order Recipient

Absolutely Stunning

SS-Polizei Oberleutnant / Obersturmfuhrer four pocket tunic for sale. The SS tunic in the typical police field grey wool gabardine, the tunic has the usual dark brown doeskin collar and cuffs piped in green.

The tunic is complete with the  silver aluminum collar patch insignia, and silver-aluminium epaulettes with one gilt pip to each. Completing the tunic is the standard Officer's quality silver aluminum wreathed eagle & swastika, along with the SS Runes insignia beneath the left pocket. There are loops for two awards.To the right-hand upper pocket is the Blood Order recipient's ribbon. A fine silk ribbon stitched into position. The tunic also has a full set of parade aiguillettes. The tailor-made tunic has a fine tan silk lining with tailor-stripes sleeve linings.

Condition report: Overall excellent towards near mint condition. Very fresh looking throughout, and free from oxidation to the silver-aluminium.

Provenance: From an old European-based collection, and held wihin that collection for nearly forty years. Acquired in the late 1980s from the Munich-based auction house, Hermann Historica. 

Notes: As far as we are aware there was less than ten officers within the police that were Blood Order recipients. It may be possible to narrow this tunic down with some research work.
