The standard SA lace up boots of the 'Kampfzeit'
German SA 'Kampfzeit' boots.' The early 1920s, brown leather, lace-up boots with metal lacing eyes from ankle to top.
Condition report: The leather in good supple condition. Showing some use overall. One boot with period cobbler's repair to side. A few metal eyes missing. The laces possibly post-1945. The boot soles and heels original: to the underside on one boot a hole for mounting to a stand or boot tree.
Note: This style of brown leather, full lace-up boot was worn by the SA (Sturmabteilung) during the 'Kampfzeit' (Years of Struggle) period, predominantly 1923-1929. By 1929, the eponymous German Jackboot began to replace the lace-up, 'Kampfzeit boot.' The SA 'Kampfzeit' boot was almost obsolete by 1933.
