An exceptionally historic and rare German document recommending Army Staff Officer Walter Boesler for the award of the German Cross in Silver. The document issued after the 1944 [July 10th] assassination attempt on Hitler.

Given the loss of trust in the German Army, Army General Staff operations were transferred to the SS, under the command of SS-Obergruppenfuehrer August Frank.

The recommendation was proposed  by Frank [ink signature to the front page]. The middle pages detail the reason for the recommendation. The reverse page confirms the approval for the award [signed in ink by Frank, Juettner and Himmler]. The three signatures being good and clear.

An exceptionally interesting and collectable document. The Frank and Juettner signatures are rare, and the Himmler signature particularly desirable.  The document would complement a German Cross in Silver  [see German medal pages].
