Luftwaffe Observer Watch | RLM | Prototype | Original Issue Box

Luftwaffe RLM prototype Observer watch for sale. The Luftwaffe Observer watch with typical RLM-series, first-pattern dial. Case in silver-grey metal, the back-plate with the designation, RLM Nav B-Uhr 1032. After the first 1000 'RLM' pieces, the 'FL 23883' contract number was placed to the side: this contract number was then used on all subsequent production Observer watches.

The fine quality Wempe / Alpina movement with Geneva Stripe bridges. The maker name, Gerhard Wempe engraved into the case-back. The watch still retaining its original brown large leather strap with metal buckle, and contained within its original cardboard issue box. The box label stating 'Beobachtungs-Uhr Nr.1032'

Condition report: Case in excellent overall condition. The dial and  subdued lume - original. Hands original. Movement clean and working. No warranty implied. Leather strap in excellent condition, and remaining supple. The cardboard issue box showing some general storage age. 

Notes: The German Ministry of Aviation (RLM) contracted numerous watch makers to supply prototype Observer watches for pre-production evaluation.  The RLM Wempe prototype for sale  is one of the few Observer watches  which fulfilled the rigorous selection criteria.
