Hitler Youth Honour Diamond in Gold with Oakleaves for sale. The fine quality diamond with central black enamel swastika on red and white enamel diamond. To the border golden oakleaves in relief. The reverse marked BM 1/122, along with the RZM logo and issue number of '352'.

Condition report: The diamond in overall excellent condition. Showing just light use overall. Approximately 90% mercuric gilt plating to the obverse, and about 40% to the reverse. The badge enamel perfect condition.

Provenance: Acquired by the consigner from Hamburg-based Niemann Militaria in 2002. 

Notes:This manufacture of the Hitler Youth Diamond in Gold with Oakleaves is now concidered the original manufacture type awarded to members of the Hitler Youth. Initially there was thought to have only been approximately 250 of this award. This led some researchers to erroneoulsy believe these were a possible fake. This was because three known examples  in collections were all in the 300-400 range of issue numbering. Today it is accepted that there was either far more than 250 awards made, or that a greater number had been manufactured and numbered ready to be awarded. This manufacture is clearly shown in the Bender publication, Political & Civil Awards Of The THird Reich page 194.
