Stunning Tunic With SS Aiguillettes

Homage To The Hugo Boss Design

Allgemeine-SS officer service tunic for sale  with the rank of SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer. The tunic tailored using a very fine black wool / doeskin material. Insignia consisting of a single epaulette insignia bearing the silver-aluminium cords on back. The collar patch insignia with the silver-aluminium SS Runes on black with number '1', along with the  silver edge piping. The companion rank patch with three silver-aluminium pips and two brocade rank stripes on black, along with silver edge piping. The embroidery of the Runes and '1' of particularly high quality workmanship. Both collar patces beautifully tailor machine-sewn into place.

The tunic with  the standard SS armband and  fine, flatwire woven 'Deutschland' cuff title. The tunic also has the Old Campaigners chevron to the right-hand sleeve. There are loops for an award to the pocket, and an iron Cross 14-18 ribbon in place. Fine dull silvered matching buttons throughout. The lining in typical black silk and with matching black silk to the sleeves. There is also the original black silk woven tailors name label, Heitinger, Berlin. The tunic also hosts an extremely rare set of 1937 SS pattern aiguillettes.

Condition report: Overall excellent towards near mint condition, showing just light service wear. The insignia very fresh looking. Collar patches machine-sewn into position. The armband and cuff title typically hand-sewn on. The tunic free from moth or damage. Lining clean. An owner's name tag has been removed from the inside pocket.

Notes: it was the well-known fashion designer, Hugo Boss, that was asked to prepare the original designs for the black Allgemeine-SS uniform.
