Allgemeine-SS Service Kepi | Years Of Struggle
Allgemeine-SS service kepi manufactured in black wool material. The kepi retains a nickel-silver M1929 eagle/swastika and jawless skull cap insignias. The cap retains its black leather centre-split chin-strap.
Interior has the typical orange-coloured water-flecked / water-resistant lining, with classic, impressed golden Runes. Above the Runes, is a golden size mark for '58'. There is also the typical small leather sweatband.
Condition report: The kepi showing some general service use. The kepi's exterior in good order, with a classic stiff kepi shape, and remaining free from moth or other damage. Insignia uncleaned and showing light age patination. Interior showing some use overall, with typical wear to the medium brown leather sweatband, and also a few splits. The celluliod panel largely missing, with a couple of sections still in place. The golden Runes now aged and faded.
Provenance: Acquired for the Reynolds collection in 2006 from the German-based military antiques specialists, Galerie D' Histoire.
