SS-Totenkopfverbände Officer so-called 'Pirate' skull collar patch. Typical fine silver-aluminium threads, on black wool base, and with silver-aluminium piping. Underneath the skull was the unit numbers '26', which have been period unpicked, in regard to orders at the time. Reverse with typical buckram back.

Condition report: The collar patch removed from a tunic and showing some general service wear overall. 

Notes: This 'pirate' skull patch was worn by members of Sturm '26', between 1934 and 1937. This example has been upgraded to officer rank by the removal of the Sturm number, and application of the silver edge piping. See Cloth Insignia Of The SS, By Angolia, page 481 for a similar example.
