Great Combat patina

Waffen-SS M40 single-decal combat helmet by Quist. The helmet finished in typical dark field-grey paint, and complete with lining and chinstrap. The helmet with the desirable Quist manufactured SS Runes decal applied at the factory. The lining in mid-tan brown leather, bearing a size stamp '59'. Drawstring now missing. The chinstrap with faint numbers. The helmet shell stamped 'Q 66' and 'DN 270'

Condition report: The helmet showing some general service use overall. Helmet retaining approximately 80% of the original dark field-grey paint. Decal with 90 towards 95% remaining. Chinstrap remaining just about supple enough, but much of the black finish worn away. Some serial numbering present but indistinct through use. Lining showing some general use, and relatively dry. Drawstring missing.
