Tank Assault Badge in Silver with '50' engagements for sale. Post 1943. The German Tank Assault Badge made in zink metal with a silvered washed wreath and riveted grey anodised relief tank. The engagements number 50,' seperately riveted, to the lower front. The reverse to the Tank Assault Badge in  hollow back form, with needle pin assembly. Three rivets in total. GB maker initials  present.

Condition report: Overall very good to excellent condition with just slight age-related oxidation in places. The attached tank motif slightly loose on the rivets. The bottom hook with old repair.

Notes: The Tank Assailt Badge in Silver for 50 Engagements was awarded to tank crews that had taken part in 50 days of continuous combat.

Provenance: Acquired by Major Jack Angolia of the US Army when stationed in Germany between 1962 and 1964. Sold by Angolia to the US-based collector, Robert McCarthy in the later 1970s. Remaining in the McCarthy family to date. A copy of a letter from the wife of Robert McCarthy confirming the above details included in the sale.
