Afrikakorps 2nd pattern pith helmet for sale. The pith helmet covered in tan coloured felt and with a darker tan leather binding and chinstrap. 

The helmet with the correct Heer silver metal eagle & swastika shield, and  tricolour metal shield. Lined in green and red cotton, and with a light tan leather sweatband. The helmet with a  manufacture initials 'JFS'. Behind the sweatband is a size and year date 55 - 1942. The pith helmet completed with a pair of Afrikakorps goggles finished in a tan rexin.

Condition report: Pith helmet in overall excellent condition. The goggles (a later addition to the helmet) with brown rust staining to the elasticated band. 

Provenance: Ray Colt collection. Acquired during the 1970s. Colt ran a militaria business called Casque & Gauntlet, based near to Aldershot (UK).
