SS Regiment "Germania"

 

One of the most decorated and famous Waffen-SS Commanders, August Dieckmann, was killed in action during 1943. This proposal document was put forward for the award of the Knights Cross to Dieckmann. The Knights Cross was awarded to Dieckmann by Hitler on 23rd April 1942.

Four pages A4 size. Cover with designation, Vorschlagsliste Nr 966 Fur die Verleihung des Ritterkreuzes des Eisen Kreuzes. Dated 21.April 1942. The document gives a full typed summary of why Dieckmann should be put forward for an award of the Knights Cross. The summary has been agreed by General V.Mackensen, Generaloberst Von Kleist, and Generalfeldmarschall Keitel. A green pencil dedication by one of Hitler's adjutants (name not given) states Hitler has agreed the award on 23 April 1943.

Condition report: Overall very good condition free from rips or tears.Two staple holes present. Some slight age toning to the paper.
