A Waffen-SS tunic for sale. The Brigadeführer tunic, tailored in field grey wool, with dark green, closed-style collar, and four pleated pockets.

The matched-pair SS tunic epaulettes with entwined gold & silver braids, on grey doeskin. The SS collar patch insignia with silver-aluminium piping and three wire oakleaves on black velvet: the collar patches machine-tailored to the collar. The silver-aluminium sleeve eagle & swastika insignia, particularly fine: the eagle motif with  seperated wings, the whole, finished on a black doeskin backing.

The SS General's tunic with several medal loops, including loops for the German Cross (Gold or Silver), long ribbon bar, and three awards to the left-hand pocket area. In addition, the tunic with the Imperial German Iron Cross 2nd Class medal ribbon with a fine quality silvered Bar to the Iron Cross 1939. The lining tailored in field-grey silk.

The SS tunic is without cuff title insignia or name-tag: there is no evidence to indicate the tunic formerly had these properties.

Condition report: Overall, near-excellent condition with just light use namely to the base of the cuffs and elbows. Insignia of very high quality embroidery, fresh and free from oxidation.

Background: The SS tunic for sale on consignment: purchased in Germany 2005. Subsequently part of a major European collection.
