An SS chained dagger for sale. The type 1, 1936 pattern, SS chained dagger, in overall very good to excellent,  textbook-quality condition. The dagger with originally-wrapped silver aluminium portepee and ebony grip with aluminum eagle & swastika motif. Interestingly the Runes eye is particularly high-set.

The blade is typically unmarked, with full SS motto. The SS chained dagger with typical type 1 nickel-silver plated chains, and impressed Runes with octagon to the reverse.

Condition report: The ebony grip has two relatively large chips, one obverse bottom, one reverse top. Plating in very good condition. The unmarked blade is in excellent overall condition, and free from any greying.  

The black anodised scabbard is near-perfect, with 95% anodised finish. The bottom ball is perfect. The nickle-silver plated fittings are  in overall very good condition, (the chains and centre-band showing age darkening). Detail to the links is superb.

Provenance: The SS chained dagger given to Hans Jensen, (a registered member of the Danish Freedom Fighters) by the Danish Chief of the Hilfspolizei in 1945. The dagger sold by Ulric of England on behalf of the family in 2010. More recently, the dagger consigned for sale as  part of a small collection of high quality German militaria artefacts.
