An SS chained dagger for sale. The 1936 pattern, Type 2, SS chained dagger, with a fine ebony grip with the early nickel-silver eagle & swastika motif and the SS Runes enamel eye, and a silver aluminum portepee.

The SS chained dagger with typical, 'Type 2,'solid nickel-silver chains, detailing finely impressed Runes and octagon to the reverse.The scabbard-shell painted black. The central narrow-style swastika mount with a single, central screw.

The blade with the SS motto to the obverse, and typically with no maker present to the reverse. The dagger complete with a silver-aluminium portepee, and a black leather, teardrop-style hanger.

Condition report: Grip near perfect with just light use only. Blade in excellent condition, nice and bright and with much original crossgrain present. The typical, black-painted scabbard  in overall excellent condition with 90% finish remaining (close scrutiny will reveal light spidering caused by age).

The solid nickel-silver fittings in excellent condition. Excellent detail to the chain links, with much of the anodised darkening present.

The bottom ball to the dagger with slight knock at base. All screws present. The  SS chained dagger is unpolished. The portepee showing light use, similarly, the black leather teardrop-hanger.
