An SS Officer sword for sale. The SS officer sword by Krebs, is typical later, 1930s manufacture with nickel-silver plated fittings throughout. The top hilt-capping unscrews to reveal the standard 'stepped' fitting inside. This style being typical for the manufacture of SS swords.

The SS officer sword has a black-painted wooden grip, highlighted with 13 metal bands. The silver metal Runes disc fitting perfectly to the centre, within the bands. The underside to the  hilt shows the the SS Rune symbol within an octagon shape.

The blade in polished steel, and bearing the later Pet.Dan Krebs name and trademark.  A white leather washer still in position. The scabbard with black painted shell. The nickel-silver plated top mount bearing the SS Rune symbol within an octagon shape. The bottom nickel-silver plated fitting correctly pressed into position.

Condition report: The  SS officer sword remains uncleaned throughout, (having recently been discovered).The nickel-silver plated mounts with slight pitting. The black-painted grip with some paint loss from use.

The white leather, hilt-to-blade washer is soiled, and appears to have been fitted upside down  with the white-finish into the hilt, c.f. towards the scabbard top mount. This could be easily rectified.

The blade is in excellent condition, with most of the original polished steel finish  being free from any pitting or graying. The scabbard shell with a small amount of black paint loss (approximately 90% original black paint finish remaining). Two small dents to the scabbard shell.
