Discounted to £4750 (was £6250)

By instruction of the consigner

1936 pattern, SS chained dagger for sale with low SS membership number. Original silver portepee, and fine  ebony grip, with enamel Runes eye and nickel-silver eagle & swastika detail.

The top and bottom mounts to the SS chained dagger, with nickel-silver plated finish. The lower mount with SS membership number '25 068.' The dagger blade with light etching to the motto, and, typically, without manufacturer's name or trademark.

The SS chained dagger with type 2, nickel-silver plated chains, with typical Runes impressed to the reverse. The black anodised scabbard with approximately  95% original finish remaining. The dagger bottom ball perfect. All screws are present: the centre mount with two screws.

Condition report: Some light plate-loss to the fittings. The grip in perfect condition to the front, but with two old chips to the reverse. Portepee showing use overall, and light fraying at the point where the grip is held towards the top, and also at the point where the cords have rubbed against the lower crossguard.

The blade with a good polish remaining, although the crossgrain now gone. A few pin head size pitting. Scabbard free from dents or other damage, typical plate-loss in areas  to the mounts and chains.

Note: The 1936 pattern, SS chained dagger offered for sale, has a relatively low SS membership number: 25 068, and therefore presents an interesting  research opportunity.
