SS Ausweis for sale with great provenance. The SS Führer Ausweis to Dr Max Werner, SS Security Service. The SS Führer Ausweis being issued particularly for members of the SS security Service (Sicherheitsdienst/SD). The Ausweis with photograph of - and signed by - Dr Max Werner.

To the reverse the SS Ausweis with facsimile Himmler signature, and ink signature of Heydrich's secretary. In addition a linen Ausweis, extending Dr  Max Werner the right-of- access as a Kriminal-Kommissar with the Wiesbaden SD. The Ausweis ink-signed by Dr Max Werner and the Inspecteur der Sicherheitspolizei und des SD,Wiesbaden.

Condition report: the SS Führer Ausweis with some general use. The linen, right-of-access Ausweis, in clean condition.

Provenance: Acquired from a British soldier stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany, by collector, Roy Smith (early 1960s). Purchased for the Ulric of England Collection from Roy Smith (early 1980s).

The SS Führer Ausweis features in the book SS Regalia  by Jack Pia, (pages 128-129), published by Ballantine, 1974. The SS Führer Ausweis, and the Ausweis extending right-of-access are featured in the Robin Lumsden/Ulric of England book, SS Regalia (page 19), published by Bison Books, 1995.  

Note:The  Ausweis sale includes a document, signed and dated by SS security Ausweis & Warrant Disc Specialist, Don Bible, (May 1991). The document with photocopies showing an SS Dienstausweis originally belonging to Dr Max Werner, (which Bible stated was in a collection in the USA).
