GRANT REIMERS FAMILY COLLECTION

The Reimers family tree runs through Danish, German, Scottish, Welsh and Australian Lineage. A Military family, military service has been recorded from Napoleonic times to the current day, with Grant Reimers having served in the RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force). His father had been an officer in the German airforce during World War II.

The Reimers collection started in the 1970s with gifts and acquisitions direct from the Reimers extended  family, and from the Australian German Veteran community. By the 1990s, and having exhausted these channels, Reimers started purchasing artifacts from specialised military antique dealers worldwide.

Today, Reimers has decided to dispose of much of the collection. Whilst the majority of his Australian Boer War, WW 1, WW2 and Z Special Unit uniforms, equipment and medals are being donated to the Canberra War Memorial , the German military antiques has been consigned to URIC of ENGLAND, and will be disposed of in two or three phases.
