During WWI Charles Nixon joined  the Tank Corps as a private. He was assigned to  the 'G' and 7th tank Battalion. When WWII broke out, he was concidered to old to volunteer for service, so he volunteered as a Special Constable.

 

1-WWI War Medal, and Victory Medal to Private Charles Nixon, both medals in their box of issue, and also with the outer Registered posting envelope. The medals impressed '316101 PTE C.NIXON, TANK CORPS'.  Also included in the sale: One of Nixon's Tank Corps cap badges. Nixon's 'THE SOLDIER'S POCKET COMPANION' book. Another book, 'NARRATIVE HISTORY OF 'G' and '7TH' TANK BATTALION 1919'. Both books bearing Nixon's inscription to the inside front. Additionally, four photographs of Nixon, including one portrait in uniform.

2-WWII Special Constable Medal with clasps 'Long Service 1947, and 'Long Service 1956'. The medal impressed 'Charles Nixon'. Alo Nixon's Defence Medal. Both contained in an issue box marked '818 Staffordshire CHARLES NIXON'. Also included a photograph of Nixon in Special Police uniform.

Condition report: The WW1 War Medal with darkened patina, the Victory Medal with typical bright-finish remaining. Likewise the Police & Defence medals in excellent condition. The boxes showing general use and age. The photographs with general use, likewise the books.
