Provenance: Richard ‘Dick’ Bulpin, and his wife Ada, were friends of the consigner's family.  Their grandfather Ernest Wright, formed the Southern California Cricket Club, formerly known as the Los Angles Cricket Club. He was instrumental in forming cricket clubs in Southern California. Ernest Wright and his friend Sir C. Aubrey Smith both solidified the urge for many British expats to indulge in their favourite pastime, cricket. Richard Bulpin participated as Umpire for the Southern California Cricket Club.

The medals & badges belonging to Richard Bulpin are believed to have been inherited by Ernest Wright after the death of Bulpin. Wright held a previous position as President of the British Over-Seas War Veterans Association in Los Angeles, California, and helped many veterans with their migration needs, as well as, organizing and participating in events and memorials (Maj. Ernest Wright was a musician and conductor in the British Army).

A letter of provenance is included in the sale of the medal group.
