SS Streifendienst gorget complete with original chains. The large style nickel-silver gorget with a central attached circular disc bearing raised SS Runes on a black field. Directly underneath an attached brass scroll bearing the raised designation, ' STREIFENDIENST'. To each upper corner a decorative boss. The reverse  with a blue/black woool finisher along with two prongs. The centre prong with the typical stamped  SS Runes within circle, RZM logo, and maker code number '140' (Wilhelm Schroeder & Co). The gorget complete with a set of close linked first pattern chains.

Condition report: Overall very good condition. Showing some service use, with slight age related micro-blistering to the nickel-silver finish.dark blue wool backing cloth in clean condition, and free from damage. Chains clean.

Notes: This gorget was worn by the SS patrol service, which pre-war were used at all large events, and also for street patrols. Where they would make sure any SS men were in proper uniform, and were not seen in the streets in their uniforms after midnight. Patrols consisted of two-three men under the command of a senior non-commissioned officer.
