The board is ink numbered by each medal or decoration. A document is included in the sale, with a typed list of the items, along with a translation in English. It would seem this was furnished in 1945, perhaps at the instruction of the British soldier that was taking them as a souvenir.

Condition report: The board with a couple of folds and creases. One near to cnetre fold gives the impression the board was folded in half to be placed in a back-pack or to other method of transportaion back to Britain. The board with some general age evident. The Close Comabt Clasp, and the Iron Cross 2nd Class loose from the ties. Likewise the Fritz Todt award. Condition of the medals remaining with storage age only. Any actual defects mentioned in the general description. The document on poor qulaity paper, and now in two halves, and distressed. The whole board retained within a wood and velvet lined hinged storage case probably dating from ther 1950s.

Provenance: Peter Burree collection 1980 - 2019. Acquired by Burree from Ray Colt, proprietor of the military antiques business, Casque & Gauntlet. Anytime an artefact came into Colt’s shop direct from an ex-soldier or relative, Colt would telephone Burree, and he would purchase it. That became the criteria for the Burree collection. With the recent death of Colt, Burree has decided to dispose of his collection, and hopes others might get as much enjoyment from his various artefacts, as he has throughout his collecting years.
