Holy Grail Of HJ Knives | Beautiful Condition


Of all the various HJ knives available to collectors, this is the true Holy Grail - an HJ knife with motto, unissued, still contained in its original manufacturer's paper bag, and with the RZM triangle serial number card.

 

Hitler Youth Knife for sale with motto, manufactured by the prestigious Solingen firm of WKC. The Hitler Youth knife complete with black chequerboard grip. HJ enamel diamond set to the centre.

The Hitler Youth knife with plated nickel silver fittings and with a fine polished steel blade. The blade with a good clear and deep etch motto. To the reverse, a full WKC maker name and logo. The blade complete with the brown throat section.

The scabbard with black painted finish, along with the correct riveted style brown leather strap with retaining fastener. The leather strap with 'LFS' and oakleaf stamp. The HJ knife remaining with its original WKC marked paper storage bag, and its full RZM 'FAHRTENMESSER' serial number tag. 

Condition report: The knife in overall excellent towards mint condition (storage age only). Black chequerboard grip clean and sharp, free from cracks or damage. The HJ emanel diamond in mint condition with a good translucent red enamel. The silvered metal hilt remaining  with 99% plated finish. Blade with an excellent close to mint condition polish with crossgrain remaining. Motto with full blacking remaining in place. Black painted scabbard with 99% original paint finish present. Brown leather strap and fastener in excellent towards mint condition. The RZM tag removed from the knife, but remaining in generally clean condition. The paper bag remaining in one piece, but with obvious storage use and staining. Some splits  and tears evident.

Provenance: Acquired by the consigner from a UK-based auction in 2019. This being one of two unissued HJ knives brought back from Germany in 1945 by a serving British officer, and remaining in the same family until placed to auction.
