A German Army 'D-H' service watch for sale. The German military watch  made by longines, and with an early contract date.

The watch case in stainless steel with a lightly polished finish. Reverse with standard six-indent screw case-back, and  'D-H' number '158.' The '158' number also impressed into the reverse of one lug. The typical black dial with 1-12 hour digits,  and subsidiary seconds at 18.00hrs. The 15-jewel movement by Longines, and marked Longines to the main bridge. Good Geneva Stripes to the bridges. The inside to the screw-back marked Longines, along with the case serial number. The German Army watch complete with a post-war, brown leather strap.

Condition report: The watch dial in overall excellent condition. Case in excellent condition free from any undue wear or adverse scatches. Movement in excellent overall condition. The balance, good quality, and with screw in weights. Case screw-back in good overall condition. Some small scratches, but overall clean appearance. The dark brown leather strap showing some light use. Watch running and recently serviced. No warranty implied. 

Note: The Longines company were given the very first contract to supply watches to the German army. The Ulric of England collection retains the earliest surviving Longines German army contract wristwatch (D 7 H). The German Army, 'D-H' service watch offered for sale is the second lowest serial number known to survive.
