Grana WWW Dirty Dozen First Series Watch

British military WWW watch for sale manufactured by Grana, Switzerland.  The W.W.W. watch with nickle-silver over brass case,  silvered dial with 1-12 hour digits, and subsidiary seconds at 18.00hrs. The reverse with typical stainless steel screw-style case-back bearing the broad, War Department arrow, and designation, 'W.W.W. M2145.'  Good quality K.F.320 movement with 15 jewels, nicely finished with Geneva Stripes.

Condition report: Case showing light wear. The dial generally clean, and with luminous hour markers. The plexi-glass clear and free from scratches or other damage. Case-back generally clean and free from adverse scratches. Movement clean and functioning.

Recently fully serviced.

Condition status: Collector Grade Condition

Note: Grana were responsible for supplying service wristwatchse to the British Army during WW2.  Grana A.T.P., and W.W.W watches are particularly desirable on account of their extreme rarity. This example is a part of a small consignment of Grana contract watches which were designated 'W.W.W specification' with white,  A.T.P dials. These may have been the first consignment of W.W.W. watches before the introduction of black dials.

Additional notes:  A comparative example  is illustrated in the notable publication British Military Timepieces by Knirim, [page 553]. The serial number for the watch illustrated  in Knirim's book ['M 2119'] is particularly close to the serial number of this Dirty Dozen Grana watch.

Dirty Dozen rarity factor: 10/10
