German Embassy in London item of unused stationery for sale. The piece of stationery for the use of the German ambassador to London, Von Ribbontrop.

The stationery of white quality paper with raised black heading 'DEUTSCHE BOTSCHAFT LONDON | 9.CARLTON HOUSE TERRACE S.W.1 | TEL WHITEHALL 1431.' The stationery with watermarking, showing it to have originated in Germany. Size: 20.5 x 13cm. 4 sides.

Condition report: Clean. Storage age only.

Notes: The German Embassy was closed up in September 1939, at which time Von Ribbontrop, and all the embassy staff returned to Germany. The embassy remained closed throughout the war years, and was finally opened up in 1947. All the contents of the embassy were consigned to auction, including furniture such as Von Ribbontrop's desk.

Provenance: Purchased from auction in 1947. Two collections since that time.
