Naval General Service Medal for sale with a '14 March 1795' clasp. The Naval General Service Medal awarded to Thomas Davis, HMS Windsor Castle. Complete with ribbon.

Condition report: The Naval General Service Medal is in very good condition, some general service wear, but free from dents or other damage. Naming  clear. Silk ribbon showing age commensurate with the medal.

Note: The HMS Windsor Castle was the rear flag ship for Rear-Admiral Robert Linzee at the battle of 14 March 1795. 36 sailors were killed and wounded aboard the HMS Windsor Castle. Just  '14 March 1795' clasp is particularly rare - just 97 clasps were awarded in 1848.

Notes regarding the battle of 14 March 1795: The Battle of Genoa was fought on 14 March 1795 off the coast of Genoa, (the port city in north-western Italy). The battle was fought between French warships under Rear-Admiral Pierre Martin, and British and Neapolitan warships under Vice Admiral William Hotham. The Battle of Genoa concluded in a British-Neapolitan victory over the French, and the capture of the French ships Ça Ira and Censeur by the British.

Notes on Thomas Davis: Davis was an Ordinary Seaman aboard the HMS Windsor Castle.
