Capture of the Mahonesa. Oct 13th 1796. An original naval aquatint from Jenkins' Naval Achievements published in 1817. The Action between the British and Spanish, taking place off the Spanish coast. 

Engraved by Thomas Sutherland and hand-coloured by Thomas Whitcombe, the aquatint was first published on 1st November 1816.

 Just 3 Naval General Service Medal clasps (Terpsichore 13 Oct. 1796) were claimed & awarded.  

Size with borders: 33.0 cm x 28.0cm cm. Full size as removed from the original, bound volume.

Condition report: Colouring excellent & bright.  The aquatint with 'additonal border'  being the gutter in the bound volume.
