British military watches and Napoleonic medals continue to lead the way as strong collecting themes. We are currently considering consignments for these collecting categories.

 

British Medal & Militaria highlights this month include three diverse- and collectible pieces; a Waterloo period gorget, a  rare RAF Omega '53' watch, plus a portrait miniature dating from the early 1800s, of Lord Dundonald as an officer with the Royal Navy Engineers


The Waterloo period gorget of museum quality , with over 95% of the original mercuric gilting remaining.


The RAF Omega '53' watch is for sale in 'collector condition,' The watch used by members of the RAF, survives with all its original back-plate designations.


Lastly, a portrait miniature of Lord Dundonald from the beginning of the 1800s. This portrait watercolour on ivory, shows Dundonald in the uniform of an officer with the Royal Navy Engineers. A fledgling unit at that time.
